| Game-theoretical semantics: Game-theoretical semantics is a branch of formal semantics that uses game theory to model the meaning of language. It is based on the idea that the meaning of a sentence is determined by how it would be used in a dialogue between two speakers. One of the most influential game-theoretical semanticists is Jaakko Hintikka. See also J.
